Terms of service

textsms.io rents temporary phone numbers that receive SMS verification codes. A rental is for one verification on one service. We do not sell the number itself, and you do not own it. It is drawn from a shared pool, held for you briefly, then released.

You are responsible for everything done through your account, including anything done with your API key. Keep the key secret; anyone holding it can spend your balance. One person, one account. Creating additional accounts to abuse promotions or referrals may result in closure and forfeiture of the balance obtained that way.

When you rent a number, the price is taken from your wallet immediately and the number is held for 20 minutes. If a code arrives in that window, the rental is complete and the charge stands. If no code arrives, the rental closes automatically and the full amount is returned to your wallet without you having to ask.

You may cancel at any time before a code arrives and be refunded in full. Once a code has been delivered the rental cannot be cancelled and is not refundable: the message was received and the service was provided. We do not refund because a code was rejected by the site you were signing up to, because you entered it too late, or because you no longer want it.

Numbers come from third-party suppliers, and availability changes constantly. We cannot guarantee that a given service will have numbers, that any particular website will accept a number, or that a code will arrive. What we do guarantee is that you are not charged for a number that never received one.

Your balance is prepaid credit for using this service. Prices are shown before you buy and can change as supplier costs change; the price you are shown at the moment you rent is the price you pay. Balances are not interest-bearing and are not a deposit account.

Do not use textsms.io to impersonate another person, to commit fraud, to evade a ban or suspension, or for anything unlawful in your jurisdiction or the number's. Do not resell access without agreement, attempt to disrupt the service, or automate against it outside the documented API and its rate limits. Accounts used this way are closed.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and may withhold a balance we reasonably believe was obtained through fraud or abuse. You may close your account at any time; contact support to arrange it.

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to a rental is limited to the amount you paid for that rental. We are not liable for consequential loss, for example an account you could not create or access.

These terms may change. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and continuing to use textsms.io after that means you accept them.
